D-Day, a 24 x 30 inch commemorative of the D-Day invasion at Normandy, has found its new home. Taking a look at this unique piece, you will get a glimpse into the massive undertaking that took over 18 months to plan and implement. It began with a dreadful day on Omaha beach, and ended by turning the tide of the war toward an Allied victory. They came by air and by sea--American heroes, proud to fight for liberty. Includes the following WW2 quotes: “In Germany they came for the communists, and I didn’t speak because I wasn’t a communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn’t speak because I am a Protestant. Then they came for me, and by then there was no one left to speak.” — Reverend Martin Niemoller “Democracy alone, of all forms of government, enlists the full force of men’s enlightened will. . . it is the most humane, the most advanced, and, in the end, the most unconquerable of all forms of human society. The democratic aspiration is no mere recent phase of human history . . . We . . . would rather die on our feet than live on our knees.” — Franklin D Roosevelt
“Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well-trained, well-equipped and battle-hardened. He will fight savagely.” — General Dwight D Eisenhower
"Americans always fight for liberty." --WW2 war poster
We are proud that a true patriot like Gerry Dufault has chosen our painting to be his first fine art investment. There are few that we know who love this country more than he. Congratulations Gerry. We look forward to seeing it hung in your office.
